[b]Hi! I am an alumni of DFCAM College Batch 2006. I miss the one and only best professor of DFCAM College---Prof. Jerome S. Asuncion. He is a University of the Philippines Diliman graduate and obtained a degree in BA Art Studies major in Film minors in Philosophy and Political Science, soon he will obtain the MA in Art Studies: Film Art History minors in Anthropology and Philosophy also at U.P. Diliman. He taught in DFCAM from 2002 up to 2006 teaching History, English and Humanities subjects. He was the Southern Metro Manila Grand Champion Coach in the 24th National Super Quiz Bee (General Information and International Affairs category) representing DFCAM College. He was also the official Male emcee host in the DFCAM College Graduation in 2006, with his Convergys twang. He worked for Convergys Alabang, Sprint program and became one of the best specialists there landing among the top 50 for the 2nd Quarter and one of the toughest trainees for Senior Specialist position. Later on, I heard, he taught at PMMS Colleges, and became one of the best professors there, and became the official male emcee host for the PMMS Graduation 2008 at the PICC Plenary Hall. Eventually, he became the Coach for PMMS College and which won the Best Debating Team in the PAMI-Marina Inter-School Debate Tournament in the whole Luzon Region.
Now, I learned Prof. Jerome S. Asuncion is doing exceptionally well at the Asia Pacific College in Makati ( Center for Excellence in IT Education ) and reaping Excellent Teacher evaluation from students and superior. I heard that during the PAASCU accreditation, the officials and representative did not come to observe his Art Appreciation classes because they knew well, how excellent he is. Lately, I heard from the grapevine, that Prof. Asuncion, is also doing well at the DE LA SALLE-College of Saint Benilde as a History professor. In fact, he was asked by Dr. Jose A. Fadul ( his supervisor ) to referee a colleague's paper work or research in the former's application for re-classification / promotion from Assisant Professor 2 to Assistant Professor 4. He was the only new faculty member who was entrusted to do this job, banking on his credentials, peer evaluation and STAR evaluation...he is an excellent teacher...talaga!!! I learned that his students from Asia Pacific College and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde love him so much...imagine still doing well at De La Salle -College of Saint Benilde at APC...ibang level na si sir...matalino, mabait, mayaman at cute...pero hanggang ngayon wala pang dyowa...gusto niya sigurong mag concentrate muna sa career...dpat lang sir...darating din yung para sa iyo...mas di hamak na mas magaling kay Adriano at sa kanyang ex-best friend --- Rizaldy E. Medina.
Sana, one day he will drop by and teach in DFCAM College again...magaling talaga siya ever since...lalu na ngayon after all his achievements after DFCAM years...isa siyang diosa sa pagtuturo... |

Prof. Jerome S. Asuncion is a biological son of former Ms. Lina H. Severino who was taking BS Nursing at UST and impregnated by a Chinoy Medical student also studying in UST. His biological mother come from a prominent kinship of the Severinos from Negros Occidental and Davao who are known as big land owners ( hacienderos ). There is a big possibility that Dr. Rodolfo C. Severino --- the former Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs during Ramos' time and former ASEAN Secretary General is Prof. Jerome Asuncion's relative. Prof. Asuncion's biological father comes from a prominent Chinoy kinship in Ongpin.
His adoptive father is Engr. Eriberto E. Asuncion, a Mapua Institute of Technology Mechanical Engineering graduate, whose father was among the first Filipinos who was sent to the U.S. for education and scholarship; and his adoptive mother is a Public School teacher who became an OIC principal for five years in the school she was teaching at. His parents used to manage a large business as their means of living after their retirement. Prof. Asuncion was sent to prestigious private schools here in Manila for Grade School and High School education. He took his college education at the country's premier academic institution --- the University of the Philippines --- in Diliman, Quezon City.
Prof. Jerome S. Asuncion is an active member of their parish (Roman Catholic Church) as a choir member. He has been trained and produced a powerful full voice and versatile singing style through Don Bosco Grade School choir (where he developed his training for Classical music), Yamaha School of Music, Center for Pop Music (trained for power Pop Music belting), U.P. Concert Chorus and Mary Immaculate Parish Singles for Christ choir. He was applauded for singing the Philippine National Anthem at the U.P. Film Center for his powerful rendition. Secondly, applauded and praised for soulful and powerful rendition of Regine Velasquez's " Sana Maulit Muli " and was asked by Mother Lily, who brought the 25-piece orchestra in U.P.Diliman, a recording contract for Regal records. He was also praised for his haunting and soulful rendition of Les Miserables "On My Own" at the U.P. Alumni Center. He was also noted to have a good vocal quality by the U.P. Concert Chorus trainer.
Recently, he is training and perfecting the Regine Velasquez's version of Shine and Patti La Belle's " There's A Winner in You "
